Video: What is your favorite children's movie?

It's hard to say what would be my favorite, but this is one of them.
Yeah, it's corny, but it's also full of great cameos, bad puns, and silly jokes.
And I still love the closer:
"Life is a movie, write your own ending,
Keep believing, keep pretending..."
Show us a family heirloom.

This is a writing desk that my great-grandfather made for my great-aunt. She wanted me to have it because we are both short. <smile />
He made it shorter than usual because she was petite. My great-aunt said it was made out of oak table leaves. ? I guess that meant furniture remnants. It is getting old and worn down from the years. The finish is crackled from age. It's not fancy like a store-bought piece of furniture. But it's special because it was handmade by family.
Show us a fool.
It seems that the actor who played Ed Rooney, Jeffrey Jones, isn't the sharpest tool in the shed either. While Googling for a picture for this Vox Hunt, I found this at The Smoking Gun:
Video: Show us a documentary or film based on a true story that really moved you.
The documentary shows Gore making a presentation on climate change over and over, city after city, across the country and around the world. He's a good presenter and actually has a sense of humor -- something you couldn't ever tell when he was campaigning for president and was trying to fit into the tiny sound bites permitted by major news media.
But the thing that surprised me the most about the movie was the content. I consider myself concerned about the environment, but I really had no idea that there was so much real, scientific data available for review on global warming. There's a lot of information here, but Gore presents it clearly and understandably.
One of the most interesting take-away points that Gore makes quite well is to highlight the difference between coverage of global warming by the mass news media versus scientific peer-reviewed media. It really helps explain why I didn't realize that the scientific community has a very different message than what I'm hearing from the daily news.
It's been running this month on Showtime. If you're interested in the subject, you might check it out and decide for yourself what you think.
Show us some shades of blue.
For today's Vox Hunt, blue is Saphira. From the moment Eragon finds her egg, shades of blue are a defining part of Saphira's appearance.
Eragon was begun by author Christopher Paolini when he was fifteen. And actually finished three years later. I can't finish writing much of anything since I left college.
Show us something that's DIY.

This is a crochet lace doily that I made for my sister and her husband as a wedding present. I crocheted it with cotton sewing thread, which is slightly lighter weight than tatting thread, so it is very delicate. My new brother-in-law said, "How are you not blind?!" when he saw it. Psst. I use reading glasses when working with fine thread.
The pattern came from a back issue of Decorative Crochet magazine. Which has stopped publishing, sadly. The publisher (Editions Saxe) has a successor magazine which I'm now receiving because I had an unexpired subscription, but it's really not as good.
